Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Jordan Rudess has become a superstar since he replaced Derek Sherinian as the keyboardist of "Dream Theater". This album was released right before the rising fame started - when he had no goatee beard yet, and his hair was longer than his wife's. It earned him a "best new talent" award in 1994, and in turn, he became a member of Steve Morse's "Dixie Dregs". "Listen" really shows astonishing songwriting skills - undoubtedly proggy, but not stereotypical... and always with a good sense of melody. Favorite track: Across The Sky.

about

"Here at last is the future of progressive rock. Rudess is a genuine keyboard hero. His long, antiseptically clean, almost unbelievably fast lines recall Wakeman, though the songs on Listen hit harder than most of the Yes Classics." - Listen review in Keyboard Magazine

Voted Best New Talent after his release of Listen in the 1994 Keyboard Magazine Readers Poll Keyboardist category, Jordan is the newest member of the group Dream Theater. Jordan has played with guitarist Steve Morse and the legendary Dixie Dregs. He has recorded and toured with guitarist Vinnie Moore, written songs for- and recorded with singer Annie Haslam (Renaissance) and has recorded tracks with David Bowie. He has also toured internationally with fellow keyboardist, Jan Hammer and legendary drummer Tony Williams and regularly performs and records with Grammy award winners the Paul Winter Consort. His scoring can be heard with International Magician of the Year winner, Jeff McBride.
